May I present to you, a dear Friend of mine: Andy Bonstrom, from Vega, Alberta. Vega the place were we had the previledge to start our first Ministry in Canada. At that time, I was unable to speak the english language. Now here is one if my friends Andy, that I will honor in this way, to thank him in helping me, to learn the english language. The other two friends were: Henri Erikson and Herman Bryan, both are not living any more. When I was visiting Vega last year, I was glad to give Andy a big "Hug" remembering and talking about the precious old times we had experienced together. Andy we love you! We are now in Germany. and our Prayers go with you and all the people in Vega, God bless! hds

Dear People in Vega, Alma is one of an outstanding person, who has played her organ in the Vega Hall. She helped me to make this funaral service of our common fried: Mr.Herman Bryan a special act of " Love your neighbour as your self " and for the Bryan Family. Robert Bryan, came to me and asked me kindly to do the Funeral Service, for his Father, who has passed away. I refused first, not to do it, because I never preached in english, what will it be, when I fail? But it seemed that Robert did´nt take a "NO" for an answer, he encouraged me that I can do it. After he had left and was gone, I felt a heavy load on my life and startet praying, praying and praying: Lord help me, I never have done it before, because my english is not good enough...
The Vega Hall was filled with people to see a young Pastor, who just came from Germany, to minister a funeral service, all in the english language. My preparation was Prayer, Prayer, oh LORD, I need your Help, now. To make the long story short: You know the outcome... The Best I ever had experienced!

Locking back in the 1960ies, we startet our Ministry in the Northern Part of Alberta, the place is called " Vega " We would thank our Lord Jesus, to have had such a good fellowship with
the Schmidt´s and the rest of the Congregation.
It was our Startingpoint of Ministry. We could write so much about our humble beginning of the ministry, in Vega. My first sermon was preached in 5 minutes only. I did not give enough time for some to fell asleep in church, but you must stay awake! If not, Jesus sad: Take your Bed and go home...
The Deacon was complaining: Pastor, you must preach longer, this sermon is to short, we want to hear more from God´s Word and not to be desmissed in such a short time. We work hard all week long on the Farm and drive about 16 Milies to church, we want you to preach more, to receive all the blessings what we can get. My answer to the Deacon was this: " Brother Witzke, I can´t preach a long Sermon !" His replay was: But listen, you came from Bibleschool, you have studied for the Ministry and now you tell me that ! ??? - Now I was in deep Water, not knowing how to swim out of my Waterloo? Oh my God, help me I cryed! Yes, I needet all the HELP that was available for me to get, to come out alife from this situation.
Coming home from Church, now my dear wife gave her little sermonette and peace of mind. Whats the matter with you? You can´t send the people home, after such a short message, preach a longer sermon! Good advice to listen to, but I did´nt say " AMEN " what she had preaching to me, inspite it was sooo TRUE !
Now it came down on me, but real good, so that I started complaining with the Lord: My Lord, why did you call me into the Ministry, you see that I can´t preach. But now the " Good Lord " did hear a lot of my complains and accusations for hours, days and more. Lord I quit, I give up, release me from the Call to be a Preacher, I can´t do it etc., etc., But now came the answer:
" I am not finished with you yet! " You better stay put and do the work of my Servant, for I am with you all the days of your life, that´s a promise, is that good enough for you?
Remember my son, I didn´t call you by chance, but by my will
and you better do it in obedience and trust me, everything is gonna be all right!
As a songwriter wrote a song: Jesus, got a hold of my life and He won´t let me go. And now I knew why! Halleluja, it is better to do " His Will " and not my own. Thank you dear Folks in Vega,
for having so much patience with me and thank you Lord for helping me carry the Load of preparation for a successfull life
of Victories. " Niederlage, verwandelt Gott in Sieg "
In english: "God, will change defeats in Victories" writen by my dear wife Irmgard. This book is a result of having so many battles and struggles in a life time. It was worth it all to keep true! Thank you, my dear Lord Jesus, for giving me a victorious life.
